I'm Ron Mercier, a Cloud & Cybersecurity Engineer based in Raleigh, NC. I currently work as a Technical Support Engineer at Verint, delivering deep technical support for enterprise Fraud and Security platforms: root-cause analysis, log forensics, and cross-team engineering escalations. Before that, I spent 2.5 years at Akamai Technologies as a Cloud Support Specialist, triaging DDoS alerts on customer servers, remediating compromised accounts, restoring database availability, and managing 15–20 complex support tickets daily across Linux-based cloud infrastructure.

Before cloud, I spent 5+ years at AT&T as a Senior Network Technician leading fiber infrastructure projects, and worked at Woven by Toyota managing hardware and software for autonomous vehicles. I hold an MSc in Cybersecurity & Information Assurance and a BSc in Computer Science, both from WGU, plus active certifications including CySA+, PenTest+, and AWS CCP.

This site exists because most security content is written by people who've never had to triage a live DDoS at 2am, investigate a compromised account while the customer is on the phone, or figure out why a database went down in the middle of production traffic. I have. That's the difference.
